Support for children, young people, displaced families and veterans: training, equipment, competitions, education and a team community in Kropyvnytskyi.
Our mission is to help people become independent through sport, learning and responsibility within a team. Becoming a champion is one possible path; what matters to us is that each person can choose their own direction and grow.
BORETS runs support programmes for children and young people who want to train and develop in sport. Support can include free training, essential equipment and help with travel to competitions. Coaches discuss the athlete’s needs and next steps with the family; the scope of support is agreed individually.
We support children and young people who moved to Kropyvnytskyi because of the war, including from Kharkiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Our support programmes include opportunities for orphans and families facing hardship. Beyond access to training, the team can help with equipment, competitions, education and settling into a new community, according to individual needs. For some athletes, support also includes accommodation and daily guidance at the sports base.
BORETS provides free training for veterans, including people with injuries or amputations. The adaptive programme developed in cooperation with TMS Hub. Sessions offer a way to return to regular physical activity and train alongside a team; the format and workload are discussed individually, taking professional recommendations into account. This is a sports programme, not a medical service. Contact the coordinator to discuss participation.
Sporting development should go hand in hand with education and preparation for independent life. BORETS cooperates with Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University on sports events, practical experience, internships and educational initiatives. We help athletes explore future paths in sport, coaching and other professions. University admission follows the university’s current rules.
In the early years of the full-scale war, the team used its sports base to help people forced to leave their homes. Displaced families received free accommodation and meals, and children could train. Suspilne reported on this work in 2023. Today, the base serves the team, training camps and children’s camps; it is not currently accepting displaced families for general accommodation.
The organisation’s resources support sports and educational programmes, coaches, equipment, athletes’ participation in competitions and the training environment. A partnership can address a specific need: kit for athletes, a team trip, veterans’ sessions or improvements to the base. We agree the purpose, scope and reporting with each partner before the work begins.
