BORETS (Borets Sports Club) · Kropyvnytskyi · Ukraine · worldwide
An academy that develops children through BJJ and wrestling, from age 4.
We have competed and won at tournaments in Brazil, the United States, and beyond. Today, the BORETS team passes that experience on to children from age four — in the academy, at training camps, and at residential camps.

Train with BORETS in Ukraine
From Club to Academy
We started as a sports club with a clear goal: to build the strongest team in Ukraine. We sought the best methodology, worked with strong opponents, and tested ourselves in competitions.
Tournaments and victories in Brazil, the USA, and other countries gave us practical international experience. Today that experience shapes the Academy program, our coaches' work, camps, training camps, and opportunities for children.
This is where the club and a team ready for the long haul emerged.
We set the highest sports standard and built a system to match it.
Performances and victories in Brazil, the USA, and other international tournaments.
We pass on accumulated experience to children, coaches, and the next generation.
A child starts close to home — and sees before them competitions, camps, education, professional sports, and an international audience.

These are not three separate disciplines. One program combines entries, throws, takedowns, control, and a strong ground game. Children develop coordination, strength, endurance, mobility, and body awareness in a complete way.

Positions, control, transitions, and groundwork technique. BJJ develops strong ground work and teaches body control in close contact.
Standing positions, leg takedowns, balance, tempo, and opponent control. These elements teach how to confidently initiate action and manage distance.
Throws, standing transitions, and control entry. Sambo complements BJJ groundwork with diverse standing work.

Head of the Academy
Yaroslav joined BORETS as an athlete, became a coach, and today is responsible for the Academy's daily operations, the team of mentors, and gym development.
This is an important part of the BORETS system: children see a person next to them who grew up in this team themselves and now makes decisions about its future.
Meet the TeamFounder and visionary of BORETS
Ievgen’s greatest pride as a founder is that the Academy’s future and BORETS’ new directions are no longer decided by one person, but by a strong team.
His personal focus is on professional athletes, international relationships, and new areas of development. Ievgen brings knowledge, experience, partnerships, and opportunities from professional sport into the shared system.

In these photos, our boys and girls hold pictures of their younger selves. Between the two shots are years of training, tournaments, camps, victories, defeats, and teamwork.
We don't promise to replicate someone else's results for every child. We show real people who grew up within BORETS and stayed in the system for years.

KSAEU × BORETS
BORETS collaborates with Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University, temporarily relocated to Kropyvnytskyi. An official agreement combines sports education, practical training at the Academy, internships, and the preparation of future coaches and organizers.
Program A7 "Physical Culture and Sport" combines coaching preparation with sports management, marketing, law, and project management.
Ievgen Skyrda is part of the working group that develops the educational program. BORETS coaches and students already combine practical training at the Academy with university studies.

“Absolute inspiration! I’m a university professor and I’ve worked with the Gracie family for 30yrs. I also lead several Microsoft education programs, and the one thing that limits most students is perseverance under pressure. I’ll be showing this vid in all of my upcoming Microsoft DIVE sessions.”@cesarewr · the author describes his own professional background · view the original

In Kropyvnytskyi, BORETS offers groups for children aged 4+, teenagers, and adults. The team assigns a specific group based on age, experience, and the current schedule.
Yes. BORETS offers groups for beginners. At the start, it's not about "knowing how to fight," but being ready to gradually get acquainted with the gym's rules, the instructor, and partner work.
No. Training for personal development is a perfectly valid path. Participation in competitions depends on the child's desire, readiness, and the coach's recommendation.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu provides the foundation for a strong ground game. Freestyle wrestling and sport sambo add stand-up work, entries, takedowns and throwing technique. Together, they support well-rounded physical development.
Gradually. The junior program features more dynamic tasks, simple rules, and game-based learning. The instructor helps them adapt to the space, partners, and the group's rhythm.
