BORETS Sports Club
How BORETS grew from a small gym into an academy with international experience, its own tournaments, a sports base, and children's programs.
BORETS began in Kropyvnytskyi when Brazilian jiu-jitsu was only emerging in Ukraine. The team combined foundations in judo, sport sambo and freestyle wrestling with BJJ, gradually building its own system for developing children and athletes.
BORETS athletes and coaches trained and competed abroad, worked in strong academies, and brought methodologies back home. This experience is now utilized in coaching, competition preparation, training camps, and children's programs in Kropyvnytskyi.
BORETS is part of the international ZR Team academy from Brazil. This collaboration provides access to the international BJJ system, promotions, and professional exchange with coaches and athletes outside Ukraine.
BORETS organizes the Ukraine BJJ Pro children's tournament in Kropyvnytskyi four times a year. Its own sports base hosts camps, training camps, and team programs with training, accommodation, and meals in one integrated environment.
The team develops international connections but continues to build its main system specifically in Kropyvnytskyi. Yaroslav Blazhko manages the Academy's daily operations and coaches; founder Ievgen Skyrda works with professional athletes and on international initiatives. Strategic decisions regarding the future of BORETS are made collaboratively by the team.
In Kropyvnytskyi, programs for 4–7, 8–11, and 12–15 year olds and 16+ groups are operational. The ecosystem also includes camps, a sports base, university collaboration, a professional track, and the international media project BORETS LAB.
